Chapter 2 · The Ghost Dog

Ohm the Boo

The Descent of Ohm

A Boo who consumed the sky and was whisked into Odie's mind. Once Odie's dog in life, now the ghost at his side, tethered by an elastic cord.

Ohm the Boo went round and round, spiraling, potato bound. Down the hole, and through the void, into the mind of the Nightshade of Joy…

Ohm looked to Odie before looking at the sky, "Look at that…" he thought aloud, so this is what happens when you die… Odie thought he heard his thoughts before, but this thought was surely audible, curious, and pure…

Odie pinched himself, believing he was dreaming. After wincing in pain, he heard a sound he thought was screaming. "Do you hear that?" Whispered Ohm, to the potato Odie O, to which the Morning replied "Ya, let's go!" Without a second thought or remark, Ohm departed from the tubby starch. The nightshade Odie struggled getting to his feet. He kept falling over, but would not concede defeat. Though tired and fat, the potato had faith, "We've gotta make sure that everything's okay…"

The Sun above intensified, with light brighter white than the Seraph's angel eyes. The magnificent luminescence pierced his essence with it's presence. Enveloping Odie was the supernal Ohr, the rays of which, Odie'd never felt before. A chill escaped from Odie's spine, which beckoned his eyes to open up wide… His potato skin began to crisp, growing brittle, as it fried, but Odie dwelt upon the noise he'd heard, concerned it was a cry.

Ohm the Boo felt empathy, for young Odie O'Dool, But deep down he knew that dream of his, was an everlasting fuel. As the potato baked in the unrelenting heat, he looked up to Ohm, exclaiming "oh… don't worry about me!"

The heat was setting in, dizzy… I don't have much time. His vision was getting blurry, but Odie refused to die. Ohm flew towards the abandoned shambles, of the potato shack, when suddenly, a tear was made, and to Odie Ohm snapped back. Their bond was now elastic, a cord kept them together, and with a little practice, Ohm could scout throughout the Never. He beckoned forth to Odie "Believe, and you will break out of that!" slowly reaching out his ghostly arms, and quickly thundered out a clap.

Determination swept over Odie's face, his words were sparks of hope. The starch got on all fours, and burst forth into a jolt! He dug his feet into the Earth, as sweat dripped from his brow, for a fire stoked inside of him, and a wayward wind was found. Amazingly, the chain was shattered, now Odie was free! He tried to recollect the time, he'd last ran into the breeze. The endorphins slowly faded, he gasped and tried to breathe, when Ohm encircled Odie, shouting "all you need, is to believe…"
